OUR WORK

Government

Riverside County Economic Development Agency –We provide all the content for the Riverside County Connection, a quarterly newsletter that allows one of the largest counties in the country to provide crucial information to more than 500,000 people. The newsletters are tailored specifically for each of five supervisorial districts so that residents receive the information most pertinent to their specific geographic area.

Riverside Public Utilities – The consumer-owned utility is a leader in California when it comes to increasing the use of renewable energy resources and promoting sustainable living practices. We have worked with city leaders and media partners to highlight these gains in publications such as U.S. Mayor Newspaper and the Los Angeles Times.

San Bernardino County Economic Development Agency – The county needed something to convey to state decision-makers the importance of widening Interstate 10. We worked on a very tight deadline with more than a dozen local, county, state and national transportation leaders to produce the “White Paper on the I-10 Corridor Summit – Securing Our Movement,” a wide-ranging look at this vital transportation artery.

Riverside County Regional Medical Center – The center needed an informational brochure to publicize Riverside County’s largest hospital and only trauma center. The brochure was designed to be a one-stop source of information for county residents, stakeholders and others. We toured the facility and interviewed patients, parents of patients and longtime employees to introduce real voices into the brochure.

Higher Education

University of California, Riverside – We were tapped to write a cover story about autism, the fastest growing serious developmental disability in the country, for UC Riverside’s magazine. The story skillfully blended the voices of parents, educators, policymakers and others to show how UCR is helping serve children diagnosed with autism.

University of California, Irvine – Major and long-time donors make a huge difference in the University of California, Irvine’s ability to fulfill its mission, and the university recognizes these donors each year in its Report on Philanthropy. We profiled many of these donors, noting their commitment to the school and emphasizing the personal motivations of each donor. We also wrote matching profiles about the recipients of the donors’ generosity, including graduate students and professors.

Pomona College –The issue of civilian oversight of law enforcement is an ongoing and sensitive issue. We traveled to San Francisco to interview Pomona College graduate Joyce Hicks, executive director of the city’s Office of Citizen Complaints, for a profile in the college’s magazine. The piece also looked at the larger issue of civilian oversight of police and how Hicks’ efforts are influencing the debate.

Susan Samueli Center for Integrative Medicine – We reported, wrote and edited a brochure for UCI’s Susan Samueli Center for Integrative Medicine. Aimed at encouraging people to get involved with the center, the brochure highlighted the center’s work and philosophy and was used as part of a major marketing campaign.

UC Riverside Graduate School of Education – We worked closely with leaders of the Graduate School of Education to raise the school’s profile in the Inland Empire through a series of Web stories and press releases. We interviewed all of the faculty members and most of the staff for short profiles on the Web designed to appeal to potential graduate students. We also wrote press releases to draw attention to the dynamic work going on at the school.

Private Businesses

Cox Communications – The largest provider of cable television and telecommunications tools in south Orange County also tells its own story both to in-house associates and to the public. We have provided much of the content for the company newsletter and also have written several advertorials for placement in The Orange County Business Journal.

Germania Corporation – One of Inland Southern California’s most prominent consulting and development firms wanted to redesign its Web site. We provided nearly all of the new Web content to help Germania explain the many facets of its business, including new biographies to illustrate the strength of the company’s leadership. We also wrote press releases and provided media relations expertise.

La Dolce Vita Retreats – We wrote and assembled a media kit and crafted numerous press releases for a luxury travel business based in Irvine. We also pitched stories about La Dolce Vita Retreats to numerous publications, which helped gain media recognition in the crucial high-end Orange County market.

Politics

Mary Figueroa, Riverside Community College District Board of Trustees –Mary wanted to create a personalized Web site as part of her re-election campaign. We wrote all the content for www.maryfigueroa.com and handled all of Mary’s communications and media relations needs. Mary was one of two board members who were re-elected and, for the first time, she was the leading vote-getter.
